When installing LinkFixer Advanced, sometimes we get a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen pop-up, preventing the installation, after the application is detected as unrecognized. Do not panic! This just means that the security certificate from our code signing tool has not built-up trust yet. This does not mean a virus or untrusted app was downloaded.


As part of our release process, LinkTek also submits our release version to Microsoft for whitelisting. While waiting for whitelisting approval, which does take some time, we may encounter the SmartScreen pop-up. 


To continue installing LinkFixer Advanced, with the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen pop-up, please follow the steps below.

  2. Click {Run anyway}
  3. Follow the installation prompt
