The Move/Rename process moves or renames the selected files from the source location to a new "target" location. It does this as a two-step process: First LinkFixer Advanced moves all the files to the target location, then it modifies the links in the files to point to the new

locations of the child files.

When LinkFixer Advanced is moving (or copying) the files to the target location, its default behavior is to create new folders and files that inherit the permissions and attributes of the target location.

It is possible to set LinkFixer Advanced to "remember" the file permissions and attributes from the source location and create new files in the target location using the file permissions and attributes from the source location. The settings for this are shown below:

It is also possible for LinkFixer Advanced to "remember" the folder permissions and attributes from the source location and use them when creating new folders in the target location. This functionality is an available option that can be enabled by purchasing this "Migration Feature"

When "Migration Features" are enabled, two more Expert Options for maintaining folder permissions appear on the "Perform Move/Rename" screen, below the two settings for maintaining file permissions and attributes.

If you need to maintain folder permissions and attributes, please contact your LinkFixer Advanced Sales Consultant at 727-442-1822.
