2. Under the Configure Database Connection screen, change the database provider from SQLite to SQL Server

3. Enter the SQL server name in the appropriate field, and specify the type of authentication to connect to the SQL server

4. Select the appropriate LinkFixer Advanced database under the Database dropdown

5. Hit {Test Connection} and then {OK}

We ship and install a SQLite database with LinkFixer Advanced for use in testing and for small production jobs up to about 100 gigabytes. For larger jobs, connect LinkFixer Advanced to a database on your Microsoft SQL Server.

SQL Server Advantages

  • LinkFixer Advanced will process your files and links faster, both because SQL Server is faster and because using Microsoft SQL Server allows LinkFixer Advanced to process files using multiple threads at the same time. Multi-threading will automatically be enabled as soon as you switch from SQLite to Microsoft SQL Server.
  • You will be able to install and run multiple instances of LinkFixer Advanced at the same time, as a way to complete your project faster. To accomplish this, configure all running instances of LinkFixer Advanced to communicate with the same Microsoft SQL Server database.
