As you may know, MicroStation allows users to store links in three formats: relative, absolute and “variable”. These variable links are similar to relative, but are relative to specific locations (or locations that are represented by a variable) that the user can specify in MicroStation.


With the settings screens shown below, we intend to accommodate the links that are referred to as “variable” links.

If you find that some links are reported as “missing” by LinkFixer Advanced, but you are certain that the child files do exist in the specified location, you can add the variable path in the screens shown in your screenshot below. These can be added either directly as a folder path, or the path can be identified by a variable with the specific path. This allows LinkFixer Advanced to find variable paths that would otherwise appear to be missing/broken.
