LinkFixer Advanced does have settings that will cause LinkFixer Advanced to automatically update the anchor text associated with hyperlinks contained in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files when those links are modified during the Cure, Move/Rename and Modify Links processes.

These optional settings are available byvclicking on the "hamburger" menu, going to Settings and "Anchor Text."

Select “Word Options”, “Excel Options” or “PowerPoint Options”, according to the types of files you will be processing. Select the checkbox “Update anchor text when hyperlink is changed” if you want LinkFixer Advanced to change the anchor text associated with hyperlinks in these file types.

When you select this “Update anchor text when hyperlink is changed” checkbox, the following two radio button options become available:

“and anchor text is the same as the hyperlink path”
Select this option if you want LinkFixer Advanced to only update the anchor text to the modified link path when the anchor text is exactly the same as the underlying link path that is being changed. This option will not modify anchor text that does not exactly match the hyperlink.

“regardless of whether anchor text is the same as the hyperlink path”
Select this option if you want LinkFixer Advanced to update the anchor text to the modified link path regardless whether or not the anchor text being changed exactly matches the underlying link path. This option will modify the anchor text regardless of whether it does or does not match the hyperlink.

For example, let’s say that a hyperlink in an Excel file has the link path: “C:\MyFolder\MyFile.xls” and the anchor text associated with the hyperlink is “Click here”. When the link path is changed during processing, the associated anchor text (“Click here”) will not be changed if the “and hyperlink text is the same as the hyperlink path” radio button is selected. On the other hand, the “Click here” text will be changed to the new modified link path if the “regardless of whether anchor text is the same as the hyperlink path” radio button is selected.

LinkFixer Advanced allows you to decide and control how the anchor text in your Office files will be handled.
