In this article, you will safeguard the sample files so that broken links caused by the renaming and moving of these files can be fixed automatically!


This lesson is a sequel to the "How do I scan my files using LinkFixer Advanced" article. It assumeS that you know some basics that are covered in that article. If you haven't done so, we recommend that you read and apply that article before attempting this one.


Trial Note: In trial mode, the “Inoculate” command only processes 500 links per day, and 5,000 links during the 21-day trial period.


New UI: 


1. Click the {Inoculate} button available in the LinkFixer Advanced Home screen.

2. Ensure that the “XLSX 2010” folder and its files are still selected. If not please select them as shown below.


Note: If you have other files selected from a previous run, use the {Clear Folder Selection} button located on the top-right to clean-up and reset your folder selection tree.



3. Click {Select Files}.

4. The “Select Files” section appears where you can filter the parent files. Select “Process all files in selected folders”. Click {Select Links}.

5. Verify that the “Process all links in selected files” option is selected on the “Select Links” screen.

6. Click {Preview}. The “Preview Working Links to be Inoculated” screen appears. This screen shows the selected files and links that will be inoculated, as shown below.


7. Click {Process Files}.

8. To begin the inoculation process, click the {Run} button as shown below.


9. When the Inoculate process is complete, the LinkFixer Advanced “Inoculate Process Dashboard” window is displayed which shows the following “Status” pane.


10. Click on the {Summary} button below the progress bar to open the “Inoculate Report”, as shown below.


11. Click the red “x” in the upper right corner, to close the LinkFixer Advanced Inoculate summary.



Classic UI: 

  1. Click the {Inoculate} button available in the LinkFixer Advanced ribbon menu, as shown below.
  2. Select “Inoculate a specific selection of files and links” option and click the {Next} arrow button.
  3. Ensure that the “XLS 97-2003” folder and its files are still selected, as shown below.
  4. Click the {Next} arrow button.
  5. The “Filter Files” section appears where you can filter the parent files. Select “Process all files in selected folders”. Click the {Next} arrow button.
  6. Verify that the “Process all links in selected files” option is selected on the “Filter Links” screen.
  7. Click the {Next} arrow button. The “Preview Links to be Inoculated” screen appears. This screen shows the selected files and links that will be inoculated, as shown below.
  8. Click the {Next} arrow button.
  9. To begin the inoculation process, click the {Run} button as shown below.
  10. By default, the following warning dialog is shown when the “Clear database” checkbox is checked on the first “Inoculate Options” navigation screen. Clicking the {Clear} button will clear all file and link data from the database before processing selected files. Clicking the {Don’t clear} button will close the dialog and allow you to go back and uncheck the “Clear database” option on the “Inoculate Options” screen. For this lesson, click the {Clear} button.
  11. When the Inoculate process is complete, the LinkFixer Advanced “Inoculate Process Dashboard” window is displayed which shows the following “Status” pane.
  12. Click on the {View Process Summary} button on the top ribbon menu to open the “Inoculate Report”, as shown below.
  13. Click the {Close Print Preview} button, or the red “x” in the upper right corner, to close the LinkFixer Advanced “Inoculate Report Summary” window.
