2. Select Folders.

This section allows you to select the folder or folders whose files are to be inoculated. Click the {Next} arrow button or, in the navigation pane, click on “Filter Files”.

My sample files are in Drive Z but I will process the Excel and Word Samples Files only. I could also select the whole Drive Z if I wanted to.

Note: You need to select the location of both Parent File and Child File. If you failed to select the location of the child file, the link will be consider as broken links and broken links will be skipped during the Inoculate process. Previously inoculated files will also be skipped until you clear the data under Administration Tab.

You could select the filtering that you wanted but for this demo I will simply select Process all files in selected folders and click next.

5. Preview Links to be Inoculated

This section displays a list of the links that have been selected based upon your selected file and link filters. You will see the preview of links that are to be inoculated.

  • The path of parent file and child file
  • Number of links available in parent file and child file
  • Status of links that will be either good, inoculated or broken.

In the Inoculate Options, I selected the force links to be absolute. As you can see the the preview, the link before is Good and the link is also relative link (Example: Image\LinkFixer Advanced.bmp or WORD2010 Data File.docx). The link After the Inoculate process will be Inoculated and Z:\Excel Sample Files\XLSX 2010\ will be added to the link. You could see the number of links in the parent file, the number of Matching Files and number of Links in the selected folders. You could also change the number of links to preview up to 1,000 link but it will take time to preview that number of links.

You could also skip the preview by clicking the next arrow button or simply click Perform Inoculation in the navigation panel.

6. Perform Inoculation

Finally, click {Run} button to begin inoculating the selected files.

By default, you will be asked if you want to backup your files before the inoculation process but you could always disable this option in Options Menu if you already backup your files or simply select "Do not make automatic backups and hit {OK} to start the Inoculation process. Besides, it is not wise to start any migration without backing up your files.

7. Once the status is Completed inoculating files, you could see the number of Files and Links Processed, Filtered, Skipped and Excepted. You could also see the Link Types and most importantly is the number of link Not Broken and Inoculated, Not Broken Not Inoculated, Broken and Inoculated and Broken and Not Inoculated.
